Here is my response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Afloat.” The WordPress challenge was: “How do you interpret the word afloat? It could be the expression on your son’s face as he jumps on the bed. Maybe it’s your daughter’s triumphant smile after tossing training wheels to master her two-wheeler. It could be a beautiful cloud formation, pollen on the breeze, or an errant birthday party balloon making its escape into the sky. So looking forward to seeing what afloat means to you.”
Mine is a mixture of shots. From a couple of water birds, through to a paddle board rider and also a reflection which makes the tree look like it is floating on the water.
it that a black swan in the first photo? 😍 I love swans and spent a lot of time beside them but never saw a black one though they live in Europe as well

Yes, that is indeed. I used to live on a small island, which has a beautiful bird habitat. Every year the black swans would arrive and build their nest in the middle of the lake. Such a treat to see them with the newly hatched birds some time later swimming around as a family. 🙂

Loved the first shot; the reflection of the duck, the color of water, the floating leaves, all are gorgeous.
