This week’s WordPress weekly photo challenge suggests that we post photos detailing the ornate nature of an item/s.
The photos I have chosen are from various locations:
- the first three are part of a collection of plates and other artifacts unearthed during an archeological dig in one of the areas first settled in Sydney, Australia
- the next three from a Chinese art exhibition in Brisbane, Australia
- the last three from the Thai Temple, donated by the Thai Embassy to Brisbane, Australia, following World Expo 88.
All photos are ornate in their own special ways.
I like how they pieced the plate together like a puzzle; gives it a nice touch;)

Yes. I’m sure it was a slow meticulous task. But the result superb.

Great series of ornate ~ both the incredible talent that went into these pieces of art, and the feel of the past. Cheers to a great week Kim.

Yes, I wish I had skills like those artisans.

These are all interesting objects, but I happened to be very thirsty when I read your post, and so kept looking wistfully at the ceramic ginger beer bottle. 🙂

I haven’t had ginger beer since I was a kid. It didn’t come in bottles like those, though. It wasn’t quite that long ago. Incidentally, the temple was beautiful too. That’s quite a gift to receive. 🙂

The temple was built on site for the Expo we had there in 1988.

It’s great that it’s been maintained in such good condition. It looks like it was built yesterday.
