Gatherings of note…

This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge has the topic of “Gathering”.

Document a gathering and share your interpretation with us.

At this time of the year one can be involved in many gatherings, from end of year work parties to the traditional family Christmas get togethers.

I chose to remember 2 gatherings I have attended in the past couple of years; both important subjects to me, given I’m a bit of a greenie. ๐Ÿ™‚

The first was a peaceful gathering of 1000’s of like-minded souls, here in Brisbane — to make known our outrage that the federal conservative government was considering allowing the establishment of massive coal ports inside the Great Barrier Reef.

The second, also here in Brisbane, was probably attended by many of the same people — this time as believers in climate change, something that is very evident here in Australia. That gathering attracted a number of international speakers, and we were entertained by Australia’s own, John Butler, a self-confessed greenie. ย ๐Ÿ™‚
