This week Frank at Dutch Goes the Photo has come up with a new challenge: Orange
Find some great examples of the color orange and photograph them; sounds easy, doesn’t it? Orange is an interesting color, as it falls between red and yellow in the spectrum and the specific tone of the color orange can range from fiery to drab depending on its exact place in the spectrum.
Like my response to last week’s challenge (Patterns Everywhere), this week’s response will have photos taken for other reasons, and also meet this challenge. Various shades of orange, in all kinds of situations. To see a larger view of each photo, click on one to launch the gallery.
One of my favorite colors and you do it great justice with these photos Kim ~ excellent.

Kim these are wonderful shots. The Orange turban and the art piece are my favorites. I think you did a brilliant job here. 🙂

Thank you Kim! What an amazing array of photos. I agree with Frank, I find the pelican and items from the past quite stunning. Was going to ask where they came from, and I see your response. 🙂
Blessings your way, Debbie from NY

But you had the eye for it too

That’s very true. It’s good to have people like you in my life who are so supportive. Who remind me that it’s not just the equipment but having an eye for a good photo. 😀

To be able to truly see the beauty of our world is a special gift Kim. When everything else seems to be heading downhill, it’s creativity that makes us look up again. Your photos make me look up.

Beautiful selection of images! I agree that the Pelican does steal the show, but I’m also very partial to the items from the past! Well done,
Frank

Thanks very much Frank. Those old items are in an antique store in a small town that was once a gold mining town in the 1800’s. It’s in the middle of my state (Queensland).

The poppy and the pelican steal the show, but all great contributions to the challenge.

Yes, they are the gems no doubt.
Thanks Steve.

I absolutely love your first (poppy) and your last (pelican). That poppy is everything and that sunset is one of the more gorgeous ones I’ve ever seen.

Thank you. Of the two, I think the pelican is my favourite. I was waiting to catch a citycat on the river into the city (Brisbane) and noticed the pelican on a mooring post.

What’s a CityCat?

Sorry. I meant to explain. It’s a fleet of catamarans that the Brisbane City Council used to transport people around the city areas located on the Brisbane River. Very nice way to get in, avoiding the traffic.
