This week Frank at Dutch Goes the Photo has come up with a great challenge: Close Up
…be on the lookout for anything and everything in the world around you that will look really great close-up, and might even make us wonder what it is…
I’ve not been able to get out much of late, so I’ve chosen a few closeups done through the years. Even one at the end, which people have tried to guess over the years but never succeeded. 🙂
Kim, I love close ups, and you have some really good ones here. I especially like the one of water.

Thanks Robyn – that water was going over a small waterfall up at Binna Burra.

These are magnificent, thank you Kim. Missed you last week.
I like the one of just before going over. Movement in a still shot – that is talented! ❤
Not sure on the last one … something like a fossil? Or something under water? Or honey?
OK anyway, that's what I've got for right now.
Blessings your way and to your family too.

Thanks so much for your comment. I’ve not been around much as my Mum’s health has taken a turn for the worst so I have been engaged with that. The last one is actually the top of an outdoor table — the dark part is a leg, and the stripes at the top, a reflection of lattice on the pergola where the table is located. Basically, there is NO way that anyone could guess it, but it’s interesting to see what people think. I love the creativity we all bring to the table. 🙂

So true, Kim! Thank you for telling me what it is. A table, huh? ☺
So many blessings to you and your Mum. Glad you are with her. Take good care, Kim.

Great close-ups. I can’t guess the last, but it does appear to be imprints of leaves?? Maybe?! But in what, I cannot tell. Chocolate pudding?! Probably not. I think I need some chocolate.
Sorry to read at Steve’s page that your mother isn’t doing well. Sending good thoughts and vibes your way. -Amy

Thanks Amy. My Mum has dementia, a horrible condition. The last one is actually the top of an outdoor table — the dark part is a leg, and the stripes at the top, a reflection of lattice on the pergola where the table is located. Great shots…but what is that last one? Leaves in water?

These are all so beautiful Kim. You’ve stumped me on the last one. It’s peaceful and kind of reminds me of a rain spattered glass. But I’m guessing that would be to easy. 😉 Or maybe even Ice that had leaves on it and they left their mark? 😉

I love how that sunflower picture is cut. That last one…..I’m going with fossilized amber that at one time had leaves resting on it (too far fetched), or perhaps it’s a dish of some sort with a leaf pattern. Whatever it is, it’s a great shot.

Sunflowers are probably my favourite flower – so you’ll see a few in my posts, especially toward the end of the year when thousands of acres of them are flowering. The last one is actually the top of an outdoor table — the dark part is a leg, and the stripes at the top, a reflection of lattice on the pergola where the table is located. There is field here that usually has sunflowers in it. I haven’t driven by it recently to see if that’s what they planted this year, but I hoping it is.
A table top, very nice. I thought it looked like glass when I said a plate. Great shot to get people curious.
